Cookies Policy

Overview
Sentrytex uses a small set of first-party cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service, plus consent-managed analytics cookies set only after you opt in via the cookie banner. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Our cookie banner is powered by Klaro, an open-source, self-hosted consent manager that runs entirely in your browser. It is not a third-party service — no consent data leaves your device.
This page explains exactly what cookies we set, why we set them, and how you can manage them.
Cookies We Set
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-*(Supabase auth cookies) | Maintains your authenticated session. Required for you to stay logged in and access the Service. Without this cookie, the Service cannot function. | Strictly necessary | Expires on browser close, or at session timeout (configurable in account settings) |
sentrytex-consent(Klaro — localStorage entry, not a cookie) | Remembers your cookie-banner choice so we don't re-prompt on every page. Stored entirely within your browser by Klaro, the open-source consent manager we self-host. | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
ph_phc_*_posthog, ph_distinct_id(PostHog Cloud EU) | Anonymous product analytics so we can see which pages and features are used. Only set after you accept the “Analytics” category in the cookie banner. | Analytics (opt-in) | 12 months |
_ga, _ga_<container>, _gid(Google Analytics 4) | Aggregate website measurement (which pages are visited, approximate usage) via Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC. We enable IP anonymisation. Consent-gated and off by default— set only after you accept the “Analytics” category in the cookie banner. Your data is processed in the United States under EU Standard Contractual Clauses. | Analytics (opt-in) | _ga 2 years; _ga_<container> 2 years; _gid 24 hours |
Authentication cookies are set by Supabase on the sentrytex.com domain on our behalf. PostHog cookies are set on the sentrytex.com domain by the PostHog SDK loaded from our pages (EU instance, eu.i.posthog.com). Google Analytics cookies (_ga / _ga_<container> / _gid) are set on the sentrytex.com domain by the Google Analytics 4 tag (googletagmanager.com), which we load only after you opt in to analytics.
Cookieless services we use. Cloudflare Web Analytics reports aggregate traffic and Web Vitals without setting any cookies and without fingerprinting visitors, so it sits outside the cookie banner. In particular, the Cloudflare beacon atstatic.cloudflareinsights.com sets no cookies whatsoever and reports only aggregated page URL, referrer, country, and bot/non-bot classification — your IP address is never stored against your visit.
Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we use your browser's localStorage for two small pieces of state:
- Theme preference (
sentrytex-theme) — dark or light mode between visits. - Cookie-banner choice (
sentrytex-consent) — written by Klaro to remember whether you accepted or declined the analytics category.
This is distinct from a cookie: localStorage data is stored entirely within your browser and is never transmitted to our servers. It contains no personally identifiable information.
You can clear localStorage at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings (usually under “Application” > “Local Storage” in developer tools).
What We Do Not Use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No social media pixels or sharing widgets.
- No advertising integrations in our analytics. PostHog is configured EU-only, and Google Analytics 4 runs with IP anonymisation and no Google Ads / advertising features enabled.
- No analytics cookies of any kind unless you opt in — both PostHog and Google Analytics are off by default.
Withdrawing or Changing Your Consent
You can change your cookie choices at any time using the button below, or by clearing the sentrytex-consententry from your browser's localStorage so the banner reappears. Withdrawing consent stops PostHog and Google Analytics from capturing further events, disables the Google Analytics tag, and clears the associated analytics cookies (ph_*, _ga, _ga_<container>, _gid).
Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings. The steps vary by browser:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
Please note: disabling the sb-* authentication cookie will prevent you from logging in to the Service. If you clear your cookies, you will need to log in again.
Changes to This Policy
If we introduce analytics tools, third-party integrations, or any additional cookies in the future, we will update this policy and display a cookie consent banner before setting any non-essential cookies.
We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page whenever changes are made.
